In the early days of my now 8 year marriage, I had a thriving career. However, challenges emerged when my business started to weaken, plunging my wife and I into substantial debt while anticipating the arrival of our first child. In an attempt to revive my business, we made the decision to leave the United States and return to my home country, France. Despite our best efforts, the struggles persisted, leading to further debt and, eventually, my unemployment. Over the following year, I encountered numerous challenges in my pursuit of stable employment. Each job opportunity seemed to slip through my fingers, leaving me struggling to find my footing. Applying to hundreds of job listings on LinkedIn, I showcased my qualifications, including an MBA from a top-tier school. But unfortunately, even with a strong educational background, securing a job remained elusive, and the setbacks continued to mount.

Faced with the stark reality of our situation, my wife recognized the need to re-enter the workforce, navigating the challenges of doing so in a foreign country without fluency in the language. Shortly after our second child was born, my wife found herself working full time during the 60-day lockdown. Our one-bedroom apartment became the backdrop for this challenging period, with me taking care of our two small children under the age of 2 just on the other side of the door while she worked. Juggling a demanding role and family responsibilities in such close quarters added an extra layer of strain to our marriage. It was the most challenging of times, and yet it was the best of times.

I remained mostly unemployed for over five years, marking a period of profound self-discovery for both of us. Despite the uncertainty, we endured. My unsuccessful job searches and a lack of clarity on my identity and purpose led to invaluable lessons in acceptance, resilience, and embracing life's journey. As my wife tackled our financial struggles and welcomed our third child, I acquired unexpected life skills as a stay at home dad:

• Raising kids, taking care of my wife, and taking responsibility
  
• Valuing money and living within means
  
• Acceptance of life's circumstances
  
• Recognizing the significance of things that truly matter
  
• Learning to share and give (provide of what you have), even in the most challenging times
  
• Enhancing communication in relationships
  
• Not fighting against life
  

It was only after I had sufficiently mastered the above list that my path was finally unveiled to me, as if by magic. I received a very expensive full grant for coaching accreditation from one of France’s most esteemed coaching schools. Embracing the opportunity, I transitioned into coaching armed with empathy and techniques I acquired through my own struggles to guide others through personal and professional transformations. My journey of self-discovery taught me to trust the divine process of life, fostering belief that, even in the face of heartache, good things are destined to happen.

Now, as a coach, I inspire others facing their own challenges, sharing insights gained from navigating uncertainty, managing financial struggles, and maintaining a positive mindset. My experiences equip me to empower individuals through practical advice, emotional support, and a roadmap for overcoming obstacles.
